The Martensville Curling Club (MCC) will be following the suggested return to play guidelines rolled out by CurlSask. We will however have the options to implement any changes we see to fit our clubs needs. All the guidelines are listed on www.curlsask.ca. Below is the quick reference of what we will be implementing.
-Hand sanitizer at each entrance in our facility.
-Arrows on the floor for enter and exit directions. Follow these the best you can. We will be having a 15 min staggered draw start to alleviate congestion in our lobby.
-Sign in contact tracing logbook (and or) QR code digital sign in at the entrance. This will help Sask Health in the event there is an outbreak to contact the appropriate people.
-Please refrain from touching high touch areas.
-Sanitizing will happen at the beginning and end of each draw.
-MCC will follow the most current orders of the Sask Health Act regarding restaurant and bar restrictions.
-Sign in contact tracing logbook (and or) QR code digital sign in at the entrance. This will help Sask Health in the event there is an outbreak to contact the appropriate people.
-We are required to maintain an occupancy level that allows volunteers and members to maintain appropriate physical distancing. No more than 6 per table that are spaced 6 feet apart
-All bar workers will be required to wear masks during their shift serving. MCC will supply if you do not have your own.
-Plexi Glass Shield will be installed on the bar in two locations and a flow pattern for beverage pick up will be implemented.
-Entrance door will be the main door currently used. Exit the lounge through the rear west door that also leads to the lobby.
-Sanitizing will happen frequently.
-Maximum of 10 people per sheet of ice
-Draw times will be staggered by 15 min to alleviate congestion on backboards to start games.
-Following the Curling Canada Distancing illustration to maintain distancing that will be posted in the lobby and behind each sheet both ends. See CurlSask website for this diagram
-No handshake before game.
-All 16 rocks will be stored on the same side of ice on all sheets. To meet SHA guidelines and to separate from those on other sheets, push rocks with the brush of your broom or your foot to same corner of each sheet.
-Move down the sheet using same side every time on all sheets. This will ensure distancing between sheets.
-Rock handles to be sanitized before each game.
-Players of opposing teams and those on other sheets are expected to maintain a min of 6ft of distance from each other. Therefore, the skip of the non-delivering team must remain in the hack area until all stones come to rest and are not allowed to sweep the opposition rocks behind the T-Line at any time.
-Curl Canada recommends one sweeper in recreational play. We will leave this up to the teams on the ice. If both teams come to an agreement to use 2 sweepers this will be allowed. If one team elects to use 1 sweeper, then the opposing team must do the same. This will be left to the team’s discretion to make this arrangement before the game starts.
-If one sweeper is being used no relay sweeping (second sweeper taking over half-way down the sheet) is allowed under any circumstance.
-Teams that are not delivering stones should wait in the designated locations on the same side of the sheet. Refer to posted flow diagram and in ice markings.
-Players are expected to maintain 6ft distance between opposition team members.
-Lockers will be available at this time with a maximum of 2 people at a time . Rooms are very small and impossible to keep distance in larger groups.
-Suspension of operations possible
-Sask Health Authority will be contacted and sign in log book will be given to them.
-A CurlSask Template letter will be sent out to members
-Thorough deep sanitizing clean will be completed.
-Communication of reopening procedure to members for a safe return and any modified club protocols.
-Media: As this crisis proceeds, media interest will naturally heighten. If someone within our club has become infected, MCC will not name the person (nor their gender, age, or any other identifier). This is private information, and not ours to share a medium (traditional media, social media or even in your circle of close friends) We have designated one contact in our club to deal with this issue, if it occurs, that works in Sask Health Care that will be given this information.
